“Hailed by Those In The Know up north as potentially the next big breakout band from the six counties, these indie-rockers have a truckload of hooks and star quality… One of NI’s most explosive new live bands, if you love the likes of Paramore and Wolf Alice, you’ll adore this lot.”
“the thing is… blend darker, energetic choruses with bold snappy lyricism, offering an exciting palette of experimental heavy sounds and chord progression.”
the thing is… emerged with a newfound set of sonic capabilities found in their new releases ‘Disconnected’, and the Radio 1 played single ‘COINT’ . With the release of their latest single ‘Logic’ and by placing emphasis on reverberating soundscapes and deliberate instrumentation to craft a poignant backdrop for lyrics which focus upon emotional centre, honesty and speaking out about uncomfortable experiences. ‘Logic’ was released as part of the Oh Yeah Centre’s Scratch My Progress Scheme.
Lead Singer, Eva Rowan divulges: “The song was created around the sensory memories that remain after an uncomfortable experience. How your body remembers everything when your memory is foggy. I’d say these are my most honest and damning lyrics yet, but masked in metaphors of drowning in perfume and Greek mythology, the real story is told in the delicate touch of the guitar and intricate swirling melodies that grow into sirens”
The band explained: “It was important to us to make the song as vivid and evocative as possible. We experimented with new sounds, exploring how to make our listener live the experiences the song discusses. We wanted every texture to feel like a memory resurfacing; immersive, haunting, and impossible to ignore.”
